The creative journey behind this release faced unexpected hurdles, requiring several lost recordings to be painstakingly restored to life. Furthermore, the digital edition features an exclusive bonus track titled "Nit de Llampecs" (Night of Lightning), conceived as a heartfelt tribute to one of the most important Spanish composers of past decades, Pablo Herrero. Where Part 1 focused on the rugged northern cradles of resistance and the birth of a new political horizon, The Fall of Al-Andalus shifts the narrative lens toward the dramatic turning points of the southward expansion, shifting borders, internal political friction, and the ultimate transformation of the peninsula's geopolitical map.
Musically, this chapter deepens the fusion of symphonic grandeur, progressive rock structures, cinematic orchestration, and intricate folk instrumentation. Rich layers of brass and sweeping strings dialogue with acoustic textures and electric intensity, driving forward the storytelling of The Lords of Wisdom saga. This release is marked by exceptional artistic collaborations: it features the breathtaking vocal performance of the gifted Lisa Fury (previously known for her remarkable work with Karnataka), whose exquisite voice brings a deep emotional resonance to the compositions. Furthermore, this album welcomes for the first time in Last Knight the brilliant Italian musician, vocalist, and composer Alessandro di Benedetti—renowned for his work with the Italian progressive rock band Mad Crayon and his personal project Inner Prospekt. Together with the core project line-up and a stellar cast of guest artists, they help breathe life into kings, chroniclers, warriors, and sages.
